
Finnish company Valmet has received a new order to provide automation systems and other key technologies for the Chinese private joint-stock enterprise Henan Longyuan Paper.
Neither company have not disclosed the value of this order. However, the Finnish company said that this deal was received in the first quarter of 2023.
Valmet’s systems and technologies will support the enterprise’s new testliner line, PM7, at its mill in Henan province of China.
Henan Longyuan Paper vice-general manager Yuzhou Wang said: “The good cooperation with Valmet started with the headbox installation project for PM6.
“Due to Valmet’s many references from centre press and automation controls in high-speed paper machines, we decided to go with Valmet again for the further expansion of production capacity.
“Valmet’s intelligent technology operating with low-carbon emissions fits perfectly together with Henan Longyan Paper’s efficient and environmentally friendly concept, contributing to the local economy. We are looking forward to collaborating with Valmet again.”

By GlobalDataAs part of this order, Valmet is required to provide a complete automation package comprising Valmet’s DNA machine controls, an IQ Quality control system, a dilution profiler for the headbox, steam profiler along with other services.
It also includes the delivery of a bottom dilution headbox and a Tri-nip press section.
In addition, Valmet will provide a new quality-control system to help rebuild the PM3 machine at the mill.
Once the new systems are installed in the PM7, the testliner line will start the production of associated products, with an expected design speed of 1,100m/minute and a basis weight ranging between 90g/m² and 140g/m².
Valmet China sales manager Fond Zhu said: “We are happy about Henan Longyan Paper’s trust in Valmet’s testliner concept and project-execution plan, and we are convinced that it will contribute to improving [the] machine’s performance.”
