Voith Paper Brazil has been contracted to provide a new tissue paper machine to US-based specialty paper manufacturer Little Rapids.
The new machine will replace the existing PM3 machine at Little Rapids’ facility in Wisconsin, US.
Capable of producing 119t of paper per day at a speed of 1,830m per minute, the new machine will be built on Voith's VTM 3 model.
Under the contract, Voith will also supply stock preparation, DCS and approach flow systems, a steam box, dust and mist removal solutions, and field services.
Installation of the new machine is planned to begin in the autumn of this year, while the new tissue machine project is expected to be fully operational start by the end of next year.
Established in 1947, the family-owned Little Rapids provides tissue, MG and wet crepe paper to the medical, beauty, flexographic printing and specialty paper sectors.

In June, Voith secured a deal to provide the TM 11 and TM 12 tissue machines for Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing’s facility in Dongguan, China.
TM 11 and TM 12 are expected to become operational by September and July 2017, respectively.
Lee & Man also ordered TM 3, TM 9 and TM 10 machines from Voith, with plans to start up the TM 9 and TM 10 by March and May 2017.
