Packaging manufacturer Wipak Group has invested in Comexi’s slitters in order to automate its slitting section.

The company acquired a total of four S1 DT slitters, which joins other Comexi’s slitters and laminators already installed at Wipak’s several plants worldwide.

Three of the new units will be integrated with other Comexi slitters in the Wikpak plant in Walsrode, Germany, while the fourth will be installed at Wipak’s Poland-based facility.

“The company acquired a total of four S1 DT slitters, which joins other Comexi’s slitters and laminators already installed at Wipak’s several plants worldwide.”

Comexi key account manager Agustí Combis said: “They are slitters completely automatic, with high added value, dedicated to the conversion of flexible laminates and semi-rigid materials such as the ones used for the food packaging. Materials that only innovative enterprises like Wipak develops.”

The Comexi S1 DT is a double-turret slitting machine with regulating and control elements that allow high-production rates in applications that have many output reels such as those intended for the labels market.

The slitter is also capable of handling thicker structures, aluminum or non-woven materials.
