Zeus Packaging plans to consolidate part of its UK manufacturing volumes to Progroup’s Ellesmere Port facility (PW12) under a long-term alliance.
Operations are due to begin in October 2026.

The shifted volumes, described by Progroup as representing a “significant share” of production, will use the current production building and converting equipment.
The converting line is connected to the corrugated sheetfeeder plant by a conveyor bridge.
Annual output is expected to total at least 100 million square metres, and the site is set to serve as Zeus’s main production base in the UK.
Progroup noted that the move restores the site’s original function as an integrated packaging park, linking corrugated sheetboard manufacturing directly with converting activities.
Based on placing sheetboard production and converting at the same location, this model has been used in practice to support supply stability, faster converting, improved delivery dependability and a reduced product carbon footprint.
Reduced distances also expedite processes, add manufacturing flexibility and cut logistics costs by removing the need for lorry movements between the corrugator and converter.
Progroup chief sales officer Vinzenz Heindl said: “With Zeus Packaging, we are gaining a high-growth partner for our packaging park. Independently of this, we will of course continue to ensure reliable supply to our other UK customers — our international mill system provides the best possible basis for this.”
Zeus Packaging founder and owner Brian O’Sullivan said: “The UK is a strategically important market for us. The close link to the on-site corrugator gives us the security of supply and flexibility our growth in the UK market requires.”
Earlier this year, Zeus Packaging Group acquired Spain-based KOEX Packaging Solutions.
The combined business will provide integrated packaging services across a broader geographic area for customers in Europe and North America.
Progroup, on its part, partnered with Akarton earlier this year for operations at its Schüttorf packaging park in Germany, aside the PW05 corrugated sheetfeeder plant.
That agreement followed the end of Progroup’s previous partnership at the site, which left the adjacent hall available for a new partner.
