The newly added bottles offer a wider label area for additional design flexibility.

Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America (AGP-North America), a division of Ardagh Group, has introduced a new bottle colour and an additional closure option, enhancing its 12oz (355ml) Heritage glass beer bottle range.

The two new 355ml Heritage bottles come in flint (clear) glass with a pry-off closure and amber glass with a twist-off closure.

AGP-North America CCO Rashmi Markan said: “Ardagh Glass Packaging continues to design and manufacture distinctive glass packaging that delivers brand differentiation for craft brewers and beverage producers

“The new 12oz Heritage bottles have a nostalgic look, while offering a wider label area for additional design flexibility and branding options in a shorter, lightweight container, when compared to a traditional long-neck bottle.”

AGP is a provider of sustainable, recyclable glass packaging. It operates 37 production sites across North America, Europe, and Africa, employing approximately 14,000 people, and has reported revenues of $4.6bn.

Last month, AGP-Europe partnered with Hernö Gin to create a new lightweight 500ml glass bottle for the company.

This new bottle marks the gin brand's first custom design and features an enhanced graphic profile.

The bottle is manufactured and decorated at AGP-Europe's Limmared facility in Sweden.

The bottle design features an embossed image of the Hernö copper still, along with the inscription ‘Hernö Gin Distillery Home of Swedish Gin’ on the shoulder of the bottle.

According to Ardagh Group, this reduction in weight, combined with a significant rise in recycled cullet content, has resulted in a 31% decrease in carbon emissions per bottle for Hernö.

Weighing 480g, the latest bottle is reportedly 100g lighter than the previous version.
