Packaging solutions provider Charter Next Generation (CNG) has launched GreenArrowRx Flexible Forming Film as part of a goal to develop sustainable packaging for the healthcare industry.
Forming films are used for top or bottom web applications in flexible packaging.
CNG's film is the result of a multi-year research and development effort by the company to help healthcare organisations achieve their sustainability goals and ease supply issues often associated with traditional resins.
According to GlobalData, the healthcare packaging market will be $133.3bn in 2023 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.2% by 2026.
Packaging is crucial for ensuring the preservation and safekeeping of medicines, but these requirements must be balanced with the use of sustainable materials throughout the healthcare industry. Companies are focusing on expanding production capacities, product portfolios and distribution networks to remain competitive in the market.
CNG vice-president of healthcare Mark Groves commented: "We are excited to present this eco-friendly alternative to traditional non-sustainable forming webs."
CNG is a North American producer of speciality films and a supplier of engineered solutions in food and medical packaging and consumer and industrial markets. In 2021, the company was invested in by global firm KKR for a joint ownership deal.
