LabelTec has become the first converter in the US to install a ROTOCON RFP flexographic press, marking an expansion for ROTOCON USA in the North American market.

The company worked with Rotocon USA to replace older flexographic machinery with a servo-driven ROTOCON RFP system equipped with automatic pre-register and registration controls.

The move aims to support higher operating efficiency, shorter setup times, better repeatability and more consistent print output.

Rotocon USA national sales director Jeff Haddad said: "Our goal was to remove the financial barrier to modernisation. By accepting their existing equipment as a trade-in, we were able to help them transition into a fully servo-driven flexographic press with automatic pre-register and automatic registration without disrupting cash flow.”

The ROTOCON RFP press is expected to bring operational gains on the factory floor.

LabelTec quality control manager Colin Luscombe said: “From an operational standpoint, the move to a fully servo-driven platform with automatic pre-register and registration will be a major step forward for us.

“Setup times will be shorter, adjustments more precise, and the press will give our team a higher level of confidence on press checks and repeat jobs.”

The way the project was managed and its execution were also part of the purchasing decision.

Rotocon USA organised the transaction as a turnkey package designed to limit disruption and lower capital exposure for the converter.

The company said its wider domestic service network, US stock of critical spare parts and broader North American footprint are part of its efforts to support converters upgrading equipment.

Rotocon USA’s North American demonstration centre in New Jersey is set to be completed in August.

The site will include a working servo-driven flexographic press as well as digital finishing and converting systems, allowing converters to view live demonstrations, run material trials and carry out application-specific testing.
