Restaurantware, a provider of packaging solutions, has unveiled a new online custom packaging editor aimed at the foodservice industry.

The tool is designed to enable chefs, caterers, and restaurateurs to create branded, sustainable packaging quickly.

Accessible via the company's website, the editor allows users to upload logos, select layouts and colours, and view their packaging designs in real time.

The company claims that no design expertise is required, with minimum order quantities starting at just 100 pieces and pricing set at $0.08 per piece.

Restaurantware CEO Jamil Bouchareb said: "Operators wanted a solution that worked on their schedule and didn't force them into large commitments.

"This tool gives them that freedom with low minimum order quantities, quick turnaround from domestic production, and the same quality and sustainability standards our customers expect from Restaurantware."

The custom packaging editor features a curated selection of eco-friendly packaging options such as customised takeout bags, boxes, labels, and drink carriers, the company said in its press release.

Operators can tailor designs for various events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale rollouts, without added complexity.

All options available through the tool are either compostable, recyclable, or responsibly sourced, the statement added.

Emily Patty, chief of staff at Restaurantware, said: "Launching this tool is just the first step.

"We already have more than 15 additional products in development for release in the coming months. Our clients trust us to deliver sustainable, design-forward solutions, and we're bringing that same momentum to the expansion of our custom packaging line."

In August 2024, Restaurantware unveiled a new range of fully compostable packaging options.

The new Sustain line was developed to address a significant gap in the market by providing compostable alternatives for more than 40 commonly used packaging items such as window boxes and sandwich boxes.

The collection was developed from bamboo paper and lined with polylactic acid-based bioplastic, ensuring that the entire product was compostable.
