SMI stretch-blow moulders, suitable for production requirements up to 36,800 bottles per hour, are the best solution for producing PET bottles of different capacities and shapes.

SMI primary packaging machines can be divided into three categories:

  • EBS E ERGON, from four to 16 cavities, with a maximum output of 2,300 bph/cavity
  • EBS K ERGON from two to four cavities, with a maximum output of 2,300 bph/cavity
  • EBS HC ERGON from three to six cavities, with a maximum output of 1,200 bph/cavity

The models of these three ranges are ultra-compact, with advantages in terms of space saving and flexibility, thanks to the use of fully motorised stretch rods that simplify the format changeover and improve the control of the stretching process and the blowing cycle.

The ergonomic frame of the stretch-blow moulders and the use of slightly rounded safety doors providing more space inside the machines make maintenance and cleaning operations easier and safer.

Another advantage of SMI stretch-blow moulders is represented by the preform heating tunnel, characterised by a reduced size, equipped with a system of heat-reflective panels made of highly-energy efficient material and able to ensure a more uniform distribution of the heat over the preform surface. This translates into reduced energy consumptions, with a lower environmental impact.

The EBS ERGON range has been designed according to a cam-free technology: this allows to modify the stretching speed without any mechanical interventions and to significantly reduce the vibration stress to which the blowing carousel is subject in traditional solutions.
