Paper-based packaging firm Smurfit Kappa has commissioned an advanced new paper machine (PM6) at the Los Reyes Paper Mill site in Mexico.

The move is in line with the company’s strategy to invest in sustainable technology in the country.

The PM6 produces recycled containerboard and is expected to enable the company to strengthen its offering for the agricultural and electrical appliance sectors.

The company recently invested in a modernisation project for converting plants.
