The scope of the project includes rebuilding the coated board machine at the mill for the production of lighter-weight grades, and the addition of two new sheeters that will mitigate limitations in finishing capacity. The sheeter installation is in progress at present according to the company.

International Paper coated paperboard and recycled specialties commercial director Michael Krueger said that the sheeter installation at the mill will offer better flexibility and shorter lead times.

"The ability to produce lighter-weight board grades responds directly to the growing demand for economically attractive and environmentally sustainable packaging solutions," Krueger added.

"Naturally, we are working extremely closely with our customers and are taking all necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted supply and service during the rebuild."
