The reorganisation announcement comes ahead of the planned retirement of AGP chief executive Mike Dick at the end of this month.

Under the new reporting structure, the heads of AGP’s regional operations will report to Ardagh Group executive chairman Mark Porto.

They are Brian Brandstatter at AGP-North America, Paul Curnow at AGP-Africa, and Alexander Kuzan at AGP-Europe.

Timur Colak will also continue reporting to Porto.

Kuzan joins from Novelis, where he had been vice-president and general manager of the can business in Europe since 2017.

Kuzan said: “I am thrilled to join Ardagh Glass Packaging at such a transformational time. AGP has a remarkable heritage of quality, innovation, and customer-centric service. I look forward to working with the talented team in Europe to build on this legacy, drive performance, and partner with our customers to achieve their goals.”

In his expanded post, Colak will remain chief transformation officer while adding responsibility for commercial activities. He will oversee the global sales process using what the company said would be a “more structured, value-based” method.

Last month, Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America launched a 275ml drinks bottle created with Fitz’s Bottling Company.

The bottle is being used for Fitz’s Tonic Water, Tonic Water Zero and Club Soda, which are scheduled to go on sale in the US next month.
