The press allows job changes and can run at speeds of up to 600 metres per minute and start-up waste can be cut by up to 90% with the new system.

The equipment will support the production of several orders a day while keeping quality standards consistent.

The expansion of the Halle site is part of WINTIPAK’s broader growth plans.

In summer 2025, the company held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new production hall at the German facility.

WINTIPAK CEO Markku Vauhkonen said: “HEIDELBERG’s extensive experience together with their latest innovation for drastic production-cost reduction at highest quality level have been decisive factors for WINTIPAK’s investment in the Boardmaster platform.”

WINTIPAK said extra printing capacity will be needed to handle higher output and future demand.

Before making its choice, the company said it carried out a review of several technology providers. The final selection included the Intellimatch scanner system.

The Boardmaster is designed for the folding carton segment.

The company works with partners as a system integrator to enter additional market areas.

HEIDELBERG CSO David Schmedding said: “The high international demand from customers for the Boardmaster underscores that we are operating in attractive growth markets with our solutions. The global trend toward more sustainable packaging solutions made of paper or cardboard will continue to rise worldwide and we deliver state-of-the-art technology as well as reliable service to optimise our customers’ production and reduce their costs.”
