The deal adds capacity in a category linked to higher demand for vitamins, supplements and health products.

Truvant runs six campuses in North America and Europe.

With the acquisition, it will add Multi-Pak’s New Jersey site to its manufacturing network.

Truvant CEO Stew Atkinson said: “Multi-Pak strengthens our capabilities in attractive, high-growth end markets while expanding the value we deliver to customers.

“Just as importantly, their customer-first culture and operational expertise make them an excellent fit for Truvant. Together, we are even better positioned to support leading consumer brands with meaningful innovation, broader capabilities, greater scale and superior operational excellence.”

Multi-Pak provides both primary and secondary packaging formats.

Its operations include an annual bottling capacity of over 250 million bottles and blister packaging capacity of more than 500 million blisters a year for tablets, caplets and softgels.

It also handles pouching and sachets and has a probiotics centre with cold chain handling.

The company packages Class 1 medical devices, as well as beauty and personal care products. Its secondary services include cartoning, kitting, display assembly, sourcing, procurement and warehousing.

Multi-Pak was founded in 2005 by John and Debbie Culligan. It operates more than 180,000ft² of packaging space in West Caldwell, New Jersey.

The business will continue to operate from its West Cadwell facility as part of Truvant.

Multi-Pak founder John Culligan said: “Joining Truvant is an exciting step for our team and our customers.

“We built this business on quality, close customer relationships and a culture we are proud of, and we found the same priorities at Truvant. Becoming part of a larger global network gives us the scale to serve our customers better and creates new opportunities for our employees while expanding the capabilities and resources available to our customers.”
