Sidel has introduced EvoDECO Next, a roll-fed labelling solution for high-speed production with options for partial labelling and reduced material use.
The amount of label material required depends on the decoration format.

Sidel said that a 90° partial-label configuration can reduce label surface by up to 75% against a conventional wraparound label.
A 180° configuration reduces the label surface by 50%.
EvoDECO Next was developed as an integrated platform for shorter labels, rather than as an adaptation of an existing roll-fed machine.
The system combines Cutter 2.0, Smart Buffer, Smart Camera and High-Speed changeover parts.
Its feeding, cutting, transfer and control functions are designed as part of the same machine architecture.
The cutting system for partial labelling is mounted on the transfer drumm and its rotary cutting device uses two blades to process shorter labels at high speed.
Smart Buffer manages reel changes while maintaining production speed.
The system uses the standard film path and does not require additional floor space, allowing splicing to take place at nominal speed.
Smart Camera manages labels without reference marks.
Eliminating the conventional reference mark and quiet zone provides more flexibility in the choice of raw material and label dimensions, while reducing the amount of material required.
Its software includes autocorrection, auto-homing and diagnostics functions.
Sidel labelling product manager Anne Philippe Lafon said: “EvoDECO Next rethinks what is possible with roll-fed labelling. Producers no longer need to choose between industrial efficiency, material reduction and impactful decoration. By enabling partial labels on a simplified roll-fed architecture, we can help customers use less material, create new brand opportunities and maintain the performance their production lines demand.”
