Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 29.79% in August 2021, a 44% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 23.4% in August 2021, marking an 8.33% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 23.4% in August 2021, a 57.14% rise from July 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 181.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s packaging industry during August 2021 over previous month.
British American Tobacco posted 9 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by JBS with 7 jobs and a 75% growth. Alicorp with 6 IT jobs and The Procter & Gamble with 5 jobs, recorded a 200% rise and a 25% rise, respectively, while Unilever recorded a 300% increase with 4 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s packaging industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 38.3% share in August 2021, a 47.06% decrease over July 2021. Argentina featured next with a 17.02% share, down 33.33% over the previous month. Chile recorded a 17.02% share, a flat growth compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.7%, down by 27.5% from July 2021. Entry Level positions with a 31.91% share, registered a growth of 87.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 6.38% share, down 76.92% over July 2021.
