US-based CSafe Global has completed the acquisition of cold chain packaging solutions provider Kalibox, for an undisclosed sum.

Kalibox has two manufacturing plants in France and serves the European pharmaceutical and healthcare markets.

The deal has added more than 5,000m² of manufacturing space to CSafe’s existing space of over 20,000m² at six North American facilities.

"Kalibox shares with CSafe the same dedication to high-quality products and services to protect our customers’ valuable payload."

CSafe Global president and CEO Brian Kohr said: “CSafe currently has the industry’s broadest line of cold chain solutions.

“This investment to expand our product offering to include an alternate but needed design of passive packaging along with a line of passive pallet shippers and gel bricks allows CSafe to continue to help our customers create the most efficient, effective, reliable and secure temperature controlled supply chain.

“We will continue to provide cold chain solutions and adapt them to meet our customer’s needs and not sell ‘one-size fits everyone’ products."
