Bosch Packaging Technology may axe around 100 jobs at its Knowsley factory in Liverpool, UK, as it intends to shift work to its other facilities in Germany.
The Knowsley factory manufactures packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical industry.

The company has declared plans to stop production of tablet presses and coaters at Knowsley Business Park, where 100 people are employed.
This move is being attributed to tough competition in the market due to which the firm intends to cut costs.
Bosch has started the consultation process with employees and their representative association Unite the Union.

Bosch Packaging Technology was quoted by Liverpoolecho.co.uk as saying: "The decision proposed is not one that Bosch took lightly and we have looked at other options over the last years but identified that we need to make changes to the way we operate as a business in order to meet the future needs of the customers and to remain competitive in the marketplace.
"Competition has increased and it has become difficult for the Knowsley location to compete on a global scale.
"Furthermore, new technology demands for solid dose manufacturing were introduced to the market and because of the increased demand for line solutions; Bosch Packaging Technology sees the need to adapt its business model to these changed market conditions.
"As a consequence, tablet presses and coaters would be produced on behalf of the business at two specialist pharmaceutical sites in Germany according to the strategical fit: Waiblingen for tablet presses and Hüttlin in Schopfheim for coaters."
The facility was set up in 1905 by Thompson and Capper Wholesale. Bosch took over the business in 2011.
