Extruders and extrusion systems manufacturer Davis-Standard has expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of new dsX flex-film line for blown film applications.
Equipped with Davis-Standard extruders, feedscrews, gearboxes, air rings and dies, dsX flex-film system produces films for laminating and converting, bag making shrink film, hood shrink film, collation film, multi-unit packaging films, roll stock and surface print films.

The dsX flex-film line can be used for speeds of up to 180m a minute and film thicknesses ranging from 20 microns to 180 microns.
This system is also claimed to offer options for greater processing efficiency, a fast delivery and responsive localised service.
Davis-Standard Blown Film vice-president Tom Kennedy said: "With the dsX flex-film™, Davis-Standard addresses the price, output, gauge uniformity and delivery requirements of a demanding blown film marketplace.
"We believe this value-added system strengthens the marketplace by offering a high-level option to processors who seek a cost-competitive US manufactured system."

Most dsX flex-film lines feature Davis-Standard’s compact Vertex die, which enables high-IBC cooling air exchange rates and output rates, while supporting streamlined polymer flow, low-residence time, fast-flushing and excellent thickness control.
