Norner is a specialised, fully independent technology centre that includes 4,000m² advanced laboratories and an internationally recognised team of experts and scientists.
The technology centre was established in the 70s as part of a Norwegian petrochemical complex and was transformed into an independent innovation centre about five years ago. Over the years, our personnel have gained unique knowledge of the global plastics and packaging markets, technologies and players.
As a polymer and plastic value-chain specialist, Norner has been proactive in demonstrating its valuable contribution as a technology partner since it was established. Using the latest technology in our state-of-the-art facility, we believe innovation is about turning research and development into business. Our high level of competence is used to develop and facilitate technical advancements in the packaging and plastics industry.
Norner is an industrially focused plastics institute that engages in plastics packaging development projects, including rigid and flexible packaging development, material selection and recipes, additive formulation, quality assurance, performance verification, trouble shooting and laboratory testing.

Norner’s facility covers a broad range of infrastructure and assets, including catalyst preparation facilities, bench scale polymerisation reactors, advanced analytical and physical testing equipments and a full scale application hall with industrial size plastics processing pilots.
