US-based hybrid packaging supplier Berlin Packaging has acquired Greek glass packaging supplier Elias Valavanis.
Based in Larissa, Elias Valavanis supplies bottles and jars for the food and beverage industries.
As well as extending Berlin Packaging’s Mediterranean presence, Elias Valavanis will bring new customers to the company.
The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

This is Berlin Packaging’s fifth European acquisition this year and its fifteenth since 2016.
Elias Valavanis has locations in Bulgaria, Romania and Greece, as well as a glass recycling facility.
It has a total of more than 1,500 customers in these regions and provides value-added services, including package structural design and decoration capabilities.
Following the acquisition, Berlin Packaging will hold all Elias Valavanis’ employees and locations.

In February, Berlin Packaging acquired Sodis-Uhart and its subsidiary Audoubert, both specialise in offering glass and metal packaging in France.
Last month, the company acquired UK-based plastic packaging manufacturer Raepak.
