US-based label manufacturer Brook and Whittle has strengthened its presence in America’s West Coast region by acquiring Digital Label Solutions (DLS).

Based in California, DLS manufactures short-run digital printing of custom and complex pressure sensitive and shrink sleeve labels for household, personal care and food and beverage markets.

The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Brook and Whittle CEO Mark Pollard said: “DLS is a unique and exciting asset that we are very pleased to acquire.

“The DLS team has built an impressive business over the past 15 years, exemplified by high-quality printing and exceptional service. We look forward to welcoming them to our team.”

Following the acquisition, current employees of DLS will work for Brook and Whittle.

DLS co-founder Sandy Petersen said: “We are very excited to join the Brook and Whittle team.

“The company’s facilities throughout North America, coupled with its West Coast focus, will allow us to expand our offerings and to serve our clients in an even greater capacity.”

Brook and Whittle chairman Don Sturdivant said: “We are thrilled to partner and align with DLS, and have great expectations for the opportunities that will come from our combined capabilities.

“DLS’ operational excellence in digital printing, along with its ability to serve its robust customer base, will integrate seamlessly into our broader network.”

The deal is Brook and Whittle’s seventh add-on transaction since being bought by private equity firm Snow Phipps in 2017.

In 2018, the company acquired US-based label manufacturer Prime Package and Label.

Last June, it acquired Label Impressions, and in October, it acquired Tri Print. Both companies are based in the US.
