Indian packaging films manufacturer Cosmo Films has unveiled a cast polypropylene (CPP) metalised film with high metal bond strength.

The company developed the film to offer superior interlayer bond strength for making multi-layer laminate structures, which will, in turn, lead to enhanced barrier properties.

According to the company, CPP provides better seal strength, good thermal stability, good yield economics and good puncture resistance.

The film is available in standard thicknesses ranging from 20 to 30 microns and provides a metal bond strength of around 450gm/inch.

“The latest addition of high metal bond strength film has definitely expanded our CPP portfolio and we see a huge potential for this film into flexible packaging.”

It has a High Hot Tack and Low SIT of 96°C to 98°C, which enables FFS machines to run at a higher speed, thus helping improve productivity. The metalised film also offers superior heat seal strength of 2.5kg/inch.

The film can be used for several product categories, such as biscuits and snacks, bakery products, chocolates, chewing gums, dairy products, and spices.
