US-based labels and flexible packaging solutions provider Fortis Solutions Group has expanded its network by opening a new manufacturing facility in Napa, California.

The company will use the facility to produce pressure sensitive labels for the wine, craft beer and spirits industries.

According to Fortis Solutions Group CEO John Wynne, the expansion is in line with the company’s aim to drive growth through customer-focused values.

Wynne said: “Our customers in the wine and spirits industries have repeatedly told us there is a need for a local, agile, high-quality, customer-focused printer.

“Rather than acquire an existing business, we were able to bring together a very strong team with extensive experience and build a facility from the ground up around our customer-centric values.

“In keeping with our national yet local approach, we found a great location in Napa from which to serve our local customers while also being able to offer an additional market segment to our national customers.”

The California branch is located at the Gateway Business Park. The company’s Wine & Spirits president Brendan Kinziethe and director James Stone will lead the operations in the facility with help of their team.

The warehouse features in-house plate making, digital offset and flexographic printing processes and speciality secondary finishing options. It offers quick-turn label production solutions to designers and brand owners.

Kinzie said: “Both the winemaking and printing processes involve a unique blend of art and science.

“We are excited to bring an alternative label choice for the wine and spirits communities by operating as a boutique label provider on the front-end but backed by the depth of the Fortis culture and expertise, diverse production capabilities and strong supplier partnerships.”

Headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Fortis Solutions offers pressure sensitive and shrink sleeve labels, multi-ply coupon and flexible packaging printing, extended booklet printing, folding cartons, label applicators and variable data printing services.

The company operates manufacturing and sales offices in Austin, Texas, Catoosa, Oklahoma, Ellington, Connecticut, Flowery Branch, Georgia, Fort Worth, Texas, High Point, North Carolina and other locations.

In June, Fortis Solutions acquired flexible packaging firm Label Technology in the US.
