Fortis Solutions Group, a printing and packaging company, has acquired US-based flexible packaging firm Label Technology.
Label Technology offers various solutions such as stand-up pouches, and pressure sensitive labels for various industries, including food, natural products, nutraceutical, cosmetic and health markets.
Label Technology president and CEO David Bankson said that the merger will provide new opportunities to its employees and customers.
Bankson added: “My father and I always envisioned a national footprint as key to long term growth and we are happy to be realising this with Fortis.”
In 2007, the company became 100% employee-owned through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
Fortis president and CEO John Wynne said: “Label Technology is an ideal fit within Fortis as the acquisition creates a true national footprint for our organisation while broadening our product offerings across multiple vertical markets.
“I am incredibly impressed with the technical savvy and operational and sales prowess of the company and look forward to working alongside Dave Bankson and the entire Label Technology team.”
Fortis plans to expand its product offerings and locations through various acquisitions in order to serve its customers better.
Fortis offers a range of products, including pressure sensitive and shrink sleeve labels, multi-ply coupon and flexible packaging printing, extended booklet printing, folding cartons, label applicators and variable data printing.
In January, Fortis acquired Infinite Packaging Group for an undisclosed value.
Infinite Packaging offers label conversion services such as pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and complementary products and services.
