British sustainable packaging and paper company Mondi has announced expanding its existing range of saturating kraft paper, called ‘Advantage MF Boost’.

Designed to be used in laminated applications, Advantage MF Boost is unbleached and natural brown kraft paper that offers porous properties.

It is a kraft-grade paper made using responsibly sourced fibres from Sweden and Austria and is also available in Forest Stewardship Council or Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification-certified variants.

Mondi said that this kraft paper is suitable for various decorative and compact laminates.

It can also be used by converters, as it offers high uniformity, product consistency, and optimised resin absorption.

The effort will help increase the capacity of this kraft paper to further improve its service to different industries, including manufacturers of technical films, worktops, and building panels, among others.

The latest product expansion builds on Mondi’s previously announced investment in its new paper machine to enhance the production capabilities and efficiency at its Štĕtí plant in the Czech Republic.

The optimisation of capacity across its mill network will help Mondi in increasing the overall production of Advanced MF Boost at Mondi Frantschach in Austria and Mondi Dynäs in Sweden.

All these efforts together reinforce the packaging company’s commitment to boosting the availability of its Advantage MF Boost portfolio.

Mondi Kraft Paper COO Roman Senecky said: “We are very committed to boosting production of our Advantage MF Boost in order to serve the markets for decorative and compact laminates as well as industrial and technical films.

“Our existing infrastructure means we can produce and deliver this essential porous kraft paper globally, in suitable quantities, providing a reliable supply to all our existing and new customers.”

Earlier in May this year, Poland-based packaging company Silbo announced a collaboration with Mondi and EW Technology to upgrade its pallet wrapping system from a plastic to a paper alternative.

Silbo used Mondi’s kraft paper-based Advantage StretchWrap solution to replace its previous plastic stretch film.
