Restaurantware, an environmentally friendly restaurant and catering supplies manufacturer, has launched a new range of “no added per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)” take-out tableware products.

The comprehensive collection of more than 50 catering products and packaging has been made using repurposed sugarcane fibre and contains no PFAs.

PFAs are known as “forever chemicals” and are claimed to cause environmental and health issues.

The new pulp-safe line of products includes compostable cups, plates, trays and take-out containers.

All the products are cut-resistant, microwave-friendly and suitable for hot and cold foods. The company stated that the range also comes in a wide selection of “design-forward styles”.

Restaurantware CEO Jamil Bouchareb stated: “Restaurantware is acutely tuned in to solving various environmental concerns affecting the foodservice industry today.

“It’s been a challenging journey, but we’re proud to unveil our ‘no-added PFAS’ product lines.”

The latest launch reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and its efforts to deliver environmentally conscious solutions to its customers.

The new products will help the company to address the demands of its customers for eco-friendly packaging to meet the requirements of complex state regulations.

The products can be used for delivery, buffet, fast food, grocery, hospitality and restaurant markets.

Restaurantware stated that its new extensive range of products has already undergone stringent fluorine testing at a US-based laboratory to demonstrate its compliance with the necessary quality and safety standards.

The company is now working to achieve BPI certification for compostability for all the products that fall under this pulp-safe line.

Bouchareb added: “Our extensive range of products provides a straightforward solution for food service businesses transitioning to more sustainable practices.”

The company is planning to add 200 more products to its new pulp-safe line, including compostable cups, plates, trays and take-out containers, to address the evolving needs of customers.
