Agilyx’s majority-owned subsidiary GreenDot has collaborated with osapiens to develop an AI-based software product for packaging compliance under extended producer responsibility rules.

The arrangement brings together GreenDot’s work in EPR compliance, packaging licensing and producer responsibility systems in Europe with the osapiens HUB platform.

The software is intended to support EPR and PPWR reporting across EU markets through a single digital system.

Under the agreement, the two parties will share revenue from the product and market the platform together.

Agilyx said GreenDot’s role in the software venture could support high-margin growth and add to its current activities in the European plastics recycling sector.

GreenDot CEO Laurent Auguste said: “Companies are increasingly concerned about the complexity and cost of administering EPR compliance under the PPWR.

“Together with osapiens, we are bringing to market the smart digital solution the industry has been calling for — a simple one-stop shop for EPR reporting across Europe that enables compliance management in a far more cost-effective, efficient, and scalable way.”

The software is designed to use AI-supported workflows and supplier tools to gather, check and update packaging data automatically.

It is also intended to link with national registration systems and EPR schemes via pre-built interfaces, reducing manual handling.

The platform will also calculate compliance obligations in individual European countries and determine the tariff structure that applies across markets.

Osapiens co-founder and chairman Stefan Wawrzinek commented: “EPR compliance under the PPWR is becoming one of the most complex cross-border challenges for producers and brand owners across Europe.

“With GreenDot, we are combining the regulatory depth and market reach this challenge requires with AI-powered platform infrastructure to solve it at scale — giving companies the solution they need to manage this complexity efficiently and with confidence.”
