DWK Life Sciences has concluded the acquisition of US-based packaging solutions provider Assem-Pak | Aluseal for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Vineland, New Jersey, Assem-Pak is engaged in the manufacture of premium rubber stoppers and aluminium seals for customers in the life science segment.

The company also offers premium services such as washing, cleaning, assembling, and kitting of primary packaging.

DWK Life Sciences (North America) CEO Jeff Schempp said: “The combination of Assem-Pak’s manufacturing capabilities in rubber stoppers and aluminium seals combined with DWK’s global market access makes this a perfect fit for both companies.

“We’re happy to have a great team join the DWK Group to help us achieve our objectives for years to come.”

With the acquired business, DWK will be able to expand its range of customisable packaging solutions in the life science industry segment.

By strengthening DWK’s value proposition of offering integrated solutions, Assem-Pak will enable organisations to streamline and simplify their complex supply chain operations.

DWK has expanded its manufacturing capacity for glass vials through recent investments in its Rockwood and Holzminden plants located in the US and Germany, respectively.

DWK Life Sciences CEO Armin Reiche said: “Assem-Pak’s combination of manufacturing expertise and service offerings is a great addition to our already extensive global production and service footprint.

“This acquisition will allow DWK to capitalise on increasing demand for custom solutions to meet the complex needs of the life science industry.”

DWK offers precision labware and primary packaging solutions for customers in the life science research, applied sciences and diagnostics, and pharmaceutical markets.
