Kroenert manufactures state-of-the-art machines and production lines for coatings of web-like materials such as paper, foil (aluminium, copper, etc.) and film (PE, PP, PET, etc.), and their laminates.
Our range of coating stations enables a wide variety of compounds, such as wax, paraffin, hot-melts, acrylic adhesives and epoxy resins, to be coated.
Our high-performance unwinds and rewinds are available as single winders (reel change at machine stop) as well as turret winders (reel change at production speed).
Coating compounds for paper, foils and films
We have many years of experience in the refining of paper, foils and films (and combinations of these materials). We provide the most appropriate solution for your application, regardless of whether the coating compound is applied in aqueous, solvent-containing or 100% solid form.
Kroenert
Coated paper, foils and films are used in the manufacture of self-adhesive labels, adhesive tape, graphic foils, flexible packaging for food and drugs, safety foils and membrane foils, as well as many other applications.
Coating systems
The coating system is the central component of a coating machine. Kroenert has decades of experience in this area, and the quality of its coating systems reflects this expertise. With Kroenert coating systems it is possible to achieve exact roll speeds, thereby ensuring the highest processing precision and quality. In addition, they can be easily integrated as independent units in third-party machines.
There are three model ranges available (400, 600 and 800), which can be used to realise all common production projects. Kroenert coating systems are for the application of:
PS hotmelts
UV-cured acrylate adhesives
Epoxy resins
Waxes
Paraffin
Highly viscous aqueous or solvent-containing adhesives
Prepolymer compounds
Chemically cured laminating adhesives
Extrusion coating and lamination machines
We have extensive know-how in the extrusion coating and lamination of paper, foils and films. Our extrusion coating and lamination machines use polyethylene and polypropylene. We can provide the optimum machine for your application, regardless of the kind of extrusion coating or lamination that is to be performed.
Laminating units
Kroenert has developed laminating units to cover a multitude of purposes. These laminating units can be used to laminate plastic films, paper, cardboard, metal foils, fleece materials, interlaced yarns, and textiles.
These laminated products are used in food and luxury foodstuff packaging, pharmaceutical packaging, medical disposables, household and cleaning products, decorative packaging and electronic products, to name just a few.
Unwinding and rewinding stations
Kroenert also develops and manufactures unwinding and rewinding stations that are ideally suited for integration into a complete production line. These stations can be used to wind films, foils, paper and special materials. These unwinding and rewinding systems can also be integrated into third-party machines as independent units.
Kroenert has developed special winders that can process special materials and increase the productivity of your processes. For example, these special unwinding and rewinding stations are for unwinding thin aluminium (less than 6µm); butt-splice unwinding without a web magazine; rewinding of adhesive tape without air trappings and telescoping; and rewinding without tube preparation.
Drying and humidification systems
Dryers are core components of the complete production line, while increasingly higher machine speeds make it necessary to adapt the steam humidification in coating machines to regulate the humidity and correct the horizontal position of paper materials. Years of experience in this area are required to be able to offer and integrate sophisticated and reliable technological solutions.
DRYTEC, a subsidiary company of the Kroenert Group, supplies drying and humidification systems to meet the needs of the packaging industry.
Printing units for flexo printing
Kroenert develops and manufactures printing units for flexo printing that are specially adapted to the requirements of converters for label production. These printing units are most often used to print logos on silicone paper. Features include:
Units with complete electronic systems are increasingly replacing the production of individual components. Printed electronics are being applied, particularly in the areas of organic photovoltaics, gel electrolyte batteries, sensors, RFID antennae, displays, electro and thermochromic functional layers and OLEDs
The coveted C2 Innovation Award, an internationally recognised prize for innovation in the converting industry, was awarded at ICE Munich this year. More than 40 companies from around the world submitted their concepts in competition for the award, and waited in anticipation for the international jury's decision.
Kroenert-BMB-Drytec has offered its clients a unique service - the Technology Center - since the 1950s. Test machines in production and laboratory format offer a variety of possibilities for test runs. New and further developments in substrates and coating materials can be brought to production
It has been confirmed that the Siemens Masterdrive, on the market since 1997, will not be available from 1 October 2011. It is being replaced by the Sinamics drive unit. Kroenert has been testing the new drive at his own technology centre for some time now, with good results. Since 2007
Kroenert has recently sold a further LabCo type machine for the R2R production of flexible organic photovoltaic cells to a German research organisation. "Due to the LabCo's modularity and possible future extension, together with high end accuracies in regards to printing and coating, Kr
15 June 2010 - Simultaneous coating is always applied when flexible carrier material should be coated on both front and back side, whether with similar or different coating weights. However, the better-known processes such as pan-fed gravure rollers, kiss-roll coating with nip dosing, doub
10 May 2010 - Functional barrier coating with PVdC belongs to the sophisticated applications available. Kroenert has innovative components to combine several application systems within one machine. PVdC is used principally as a gas barrier for oxygen or water vapour, taking the
Screen roller technology with a chamber doctor blade has established itself in our field in fewer than ten years. Kroenert has been involved in the development of this technology since the beginning and March 2010 marked the commissioning of its 250th chamber doctor blade assembly. Kroenert is ra
10 February 2010 - Inline coating in film stretching machines is steadily growing in importance. The refining of films enables the achievement of higher margin and better benefit. Refining results in the coatings obtaining almost all desired characteristics, from anti-static, anti-block an
