FRÖVI LIGHT for Organic Range of ANNAS Ginger Thins

A real MUST for the Swedish Christmas season is the spicy ginger thin with ingredients like cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Of course, preferably hand-made, but for minimizing the December stress factor, shop-bought thins are OK, especially if the brand is ANNAS.

The thins were introduced in the 14th century by the monks and were used as medicine for rich people. The spices were very expensive and were said to cure a number of diseases. The real effect of the thins then were probably as doubtful as today’s tradition that says that they make you kind-hearted and good-natured. “Have another one – you might need it” is a very common comment when you are offered thins with your coffee – a hint that there is a lack of these points in your personality!

Tradition and ecofriendly lifestyle communicated – also in Braille

For their organic range Annas have chosen FRÖVI LIGHT, printed on the brown reverse and thus using the “packaging language” in order to appeal to the right consumers. Annas have Braille on all their Swedish packs. They got the idea from some pharmaceutical producers 10 years ago. “The Braille gives positive reactions and is very appreciated by all kinds of people – added value more or less without any costs”, says Åke Mattsson, Technical Manager at Annas. The pack is opened by a convenient tear strip.

“We chose FRÖVI as Annas wanted a quality suitable for four colour print on a brown surface. In addition their board is designed for direct contact with food, and with a tear strip and Braille the choice was obvious considering the high tensile strength of the material”, says Thomas Bengtsson, Sales Manager at Eson Pac.
