Worldwide Dispensers of North America, a subsidiary of DS Smith’s Plastics division, has completed the expansion of its injection moulding factory in Lester Prairie, Minnesota, US.

The expanded facility has increased the manufacturing footprint and site capabilities of the production plant by 25,000ft2.

Currently covering an area of more than 80,000ft2, the injection moulding facility will be equipped with additional high-precision injection moulding machines and sub-assembly equipment, as well as a new warehouse space.

“The completed expansion provides the opportunity to further develop our current capabilities and support the future growth of our liquid dispensing products.”

As part of the $4 million expansion, the company also built a new 2,000ft2 product development laboratory.

Featuring advanced computer-aided-design, 3D-printing and other equipment, the laboratory will support production, enhance the development cycle performance and provide customers with custom-design solutions.

Worldwide Dispensers North America general manager Mark Kurtzweg said: “The completed expansion of our Lester Prairie location provides the opportunity to further develop our current capabilities and support the future growth of our liquid dispensing products.
