US-based Pelican BioThermal has launched Golden Hour Medic, a new critical care transport container, to serve the life sciences sector.
Designed to allow military personnel to carry life-saving materials onto the battlefield, the new container can store whole blood supplies for up to 24 hours in adverse conditions, and three days in standard environments.

The reusable, portable containers were developed with technology used for Pelican’s Golden Hour Mobile container.
Pelican BioThermal worldwide sales vice-president Kevin Lawler said: “The Golden Hour Medic is the result of our long-standing effort to identify and develop solutions for military field personnel; it supports the need to transport whole blood units far distances while still successfully maintaining blood at the critical temperature around 4°C.
“We are proud to officially launch the Golden Hour Medic and look forward to playing a pivotal role in the effort to save the lives of troops.”
The company has developed its Golden Hour technology to aid military personnel on the frontlines, and provided smaller-scale thermal containers for blood supplies.
