Stratus Packaging Group has purchased Freppel Imprimeur, a France-based producer of labels and printed media established in 1968.

Financial specifics of the deal were not disclosed.

Freppel Imprimeur employs 60 staff and operates from a 5,000m² production site, focusing on label manufacturing and print services.

The move aligns with Stratus Packaging Group’s strategy, which is “aimed at strengthening customer proximity, geographical coverage, and industrial synergies”, according to the company’s statement.

With this acquisition, Stratus’ reported turnover stands at more than €100m ($119m) and the combined workforce of over 520 people.

Stratus Packaging CEO Isidore Leiser said: “Since the creation of the Stratus Packaging Group, our ambition has been to develop both organically and through external growth, while respecting the fundamental principles that still guide us today: packaging solutions adapted to each client and each challenge, a strong sense of belonging, overall performance, and continuous improvement of our employees.”

Freppel Imprimeur’s location in Alsace is expected to provide new opportunities for Stratus, France, as well as neighbouring Germany.

The company’s activities include producing self-adhesive, dry, and wrap-around labels, along with commercial print products such as catalogues and brochures.

Freppel Imprimeur also offers services such as hot foil stamping, embossing, and varnishing, and has an in-house prepress department and creative studio.

Its client base spans the food, beverages, wines, spirits, and luxury markets.

Freppel Imprimeur uses a variety of printing techniques, including offset, screen printing, flexography, and digital processes.

Freppel Imprimeur managing director Denis Maciuk commented: “This integration strengthens our complementarity in the wine, spirits, and luxury markets, where conventional and digital technologies fully express their potential.

“This merger quickly proved to be an obvious choice, as Freppel Imprimeur and the Stratus Packaging Group share common values: family-owned businesses, the same spirit of innovation and investment, commitment, customer service, and team complementarity.”
