December 2021 has seen a decrease of 10.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with November 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.9% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in December 2021, registering an increase of 0.2% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in December 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 59.22% in December 2021, a 22.94% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 17.63% in December 2021, marking a 5.07% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 16.02% in December 2021, a 26.09% drop from November 2021.

Top five packaging companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 25.7% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s packaging industry during December 2021 over previous month.
Fujitsu General posted 73 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a decline of 13.1% over the previous month, followed by Lotus Bakeries with 72 jobs and a 36.84% drop. Panasonic with 51 IT jobs and Unibel with 41 jobs, recorded a 21.54% drop and a 35.94% drop, respectively, while AB Electrolux recorded a 6.45% decline with 29 job postings during December 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s packaging industry
Spain commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 12.92% share in December 2021, a 2.13% increase over November 2021. The UK featured next with a 12.38% share, down 36.99% over the previous month. Belgium recorded an 11.31% share, a drop of 40% compared with November 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.26%, down by 26.58% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with a 15.88% share, registered a decline of 6.35% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 13.46% share, down 23.08% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.4%, recording a month-on-month growth of 50%.
