Germany’s process and packaging technology provider Bosch Packaging Technology has showcased its next-generation human machine interface (HMI), HMI 4.0, at the FachPack international trade show.
Part of Bosch’s industry’s 4.0 applications, the new solution is suitable for use in both stand-alone machines and production lines.
The company plans to install the HMI 4.0, which offers an interface for data collection, sharing and visualisation, on its processing and packaging units.
Bosch Packaging Technology board of management member Stefan König said: “The aim is to ensure that all our machines feature the latest hardware and control technology, and also provide a consistent user guidance with the same comprehensible surface.
“Thereby, Bosch not only explores new horizons with regard to design but also sets a milestone for connected solutions in the processing and packaging industry.”
The new HMI offers guided workflows, which help operators through each step of production processes, including format changes, cleaning and maintenance.
