Harpak-ULMA has agreed to provide smart, connected packaging machines under the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork programme.
The partnership will allow Rockwell to deliver Harpak’s ULMA Thermoformer lines with its Integrated Architecture production control and information system.
The packaging machines are integrated with internet of things (IoT) and augmented reality platforms developed by PTC.
Headquartered in Massachusetts, US, Harpak-ULMA provides packaging line solutions for food, medical, bakery, and other industrial products.
Greencore Group has agreed to sell its frozen contract packaging business in the US to Hearthside Food Solutions for $1.075bn.
Greencore USA produces refrigerated, freshly made sandwiches, entrées, and salad kits at its 13 plants across North America.

Elanders Group has signed an agreement to sell Elanders Beijing Printing to The Edelmann Group, a German board and paper packaging solutions provider.
The acquisition of Elanders Beijing Printing will provide Edelmann with packaging production opportunities involving folding cartons and rigid boxes for beauty care and consumer brands in China.
The transaction is scheduled to close towards the end of the year and will increase Edelmann’s production network to 21 facilities.
