TemperPack Technologies and e-commerce firm Boxed Wholesale have agreed to develop and test sustainable thermal packaging for chocolate products ordered online.

Claimed to be eco-friendly, the new packaging will allow Boxed Wholesale to minimise risks of chocolate melting while in transit for up to two days during summer months.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

NREP Logicenters has awarded a contract to Finnish construction company YIT to expand and renovate Huhtamaki’s paperboard foodservice packaging facility in Hämeenlinna, Finland.

As part of the contract, YIT will refurbish approximately 2,700m² of the existing production, storage and business facility, as well as build a new 15,000m² building.

The construction will be carried out in phases until December 2019.

Based in Espoo, Finland, Huhtamäki produces packaging products for the foodservice market, while NREP Logicenters provides logistics properties in the Nordic region.

PCI Pharma Services has signed an agreement for the acquisition of Sherpa Clinical Packaging.

“Serenity Packaging Corporation has been acquired by Packaging Distribution Services.”

The transaction will allow PCI to expand its operational footprint in the US market.

PCI offers integrated pharmaceutical development services to the healthcare market, while Sherpa Clinical Packaging provides clinical trial material management services, including packaging, labelling, distribution and storage for clinical studies in phases I to IV.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.

Siegwerk has agreed to acquire Ultra Inks, a manufacturer of water-based flexo inks for narrow web, paper and boards.

Based in Germany, Siegwerk manufactures printing ink solutions for packaging applications. The acquisition will support Siegwerk’s services in the Canadian market and expand its product portfolio for packaging and label printers.

The transaction will also provide a more comprehensive product portfolio and technology expertise to Ultra Inks’ customers.

Serenity Packaging Corporation has been acquired by Packaging Distribution Services, a distributor of packaging materials, corrugated boxes and speciality cartons.

Serenity Packaging is a provider of packaging solutions.

Both the companies involved in the transaction are based in the US.
