Valmet has been contracted to supply a high-speed containerboard production line to an undisclosed customer based in the Zhejiang province, China.

The 7.25m board machine will have a design speed of 1,400m/min and is capable of producing recycled fluting grades with a basis weight range of 60-140g/m².

The production line is scheduled to be installed at the Chinese customer’s facility by the end of 2019.

Based in Finland, Valmet develops and supplies process technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper and energy industries.

Flo has unveiled a new industrial compostable coffee capsule named Gea.

Developed in partnership with NatureWorks, the capsule is made from Ingeo polylactic acid (PLA), a renewably sourced polymer derived entirely from plant resources.

The new capsule combines compostability with an oxygen barrier, while providing an improved taste and aroma.

Flo is an Italy-based food packaging producer, while NatureWorks is a US-based manufacturer of plant-derived polymers.

Sun Chemical has signed an agreement to distribute Cyngient’s range of inks, coatings and solutions for offset, narrow web tag, sheetfed and folding carton printers in North America.

Based in the US, Sun Chemical is a producer of printing inks and pigments, while Cyngient is a provider of inks, coatings and adhesives for the flexographic, digital and commercial printing industries.

The partnership will enable the two companies to reach their North American customers and jointly provide technical and product support.

Stora Enso has signed an agreement with Sulapac for the development of renewable caps and closures for liquid packages.

Sulapac will provide biodegradable and microplastic-free materials as part of the agreement.

The deal will enable Stora to reduce plastic waste.
