Hood Container, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hood Companies, has announced the acquisition of Sumter Packaging’s corrugated packaging business operations. 

Founded in 1958, Sumter Packaging is a South Carolina, US-based company that has more than 350,000ft² of manufacturing and warehouse space.

The company also operates from other locations in the US, including North Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia.  

As part of the latest deal, Hood Container has acquired all the design, manufacturing, assembly, and fulfilment operations of Sumter in South Carolina, along with its business from the Statesville, North Carolina facility.  

This strategic move emphasises Hood Container’s commitment to expand its existing corrugated packaging operations, especially in the Carolinas/Georgia region and the high graphics packaging markets of the country.
