Parkside Flexibles is prepared to unveil its latest range of unique products at the Packaging Innovations Exhibition in London, in late September.

Following its success at the NEC where Parkside exhibited in February of this year, the company plans to reveal further innovative new products at the London Design Centre on 30 September and 1 October.

Lidd™, Parkside’s solution to packaging reduction in the ready meal market, has evolved into a range of lidding film products. By combining the concept of Lidd™ with its unique laser capabilities, Parkside Flexibles is launching a range of lidding films with laser scoring features, giving the products easy opening and re-closure features.

The products fall into two categories, single opening and multi-opening for multi-cavity trays. Parkside has identified that today’s consumers view features such as easy opening and re-closable packs as top priorities, couple these with the drive for food waste reduction by the major retailers and it becomes apparent that the unique features of Parkside’s new packs fulfil these requirements. The films can be run down current packing lines without any changes to operational practices or equipment.

Parkside Flexibles will also be launching Rockpockets™, a revolutionary protective packaging concept that offers an extremely lightweight pack for the transport of breakable items in a compact format. The Rockpocket™ uses a vacuum created around the product, utilising polystyrene beads, to form a shaped protective layer offering protection through the supply chain. Samples of the global patent pending pack will be available for demonstrations during the exhibition.

Visitors to Packaging Innovations shouldn’t miss the opportunity to learn all about the advances in compostable laminates that Parkside Flexibles have made since the NEC exhibition in February, with the first barrier laminates to fulfil the criteria required under EN13432 for the home composting standard now available.
