monta Increases Production Capacity to Meet Demand for Premium Packaging Tapes

Due to increased demand for premium packaging tapes with natural rubber adhesive systems, monta Klebebandwerk of Immenstadt, Germany, is taking aggressive steps to increase production capacity. In October, the company will implement a 24 hour / 7 day production operation. This move will increase available production hours as well as enhance manufacturing productivity. The expanded production schedule will add approximately 20 new positions to the company’s skilled labour force, providing a welcome, positive impact to the local economy.

In recent months at least two major European tape producers have shut down operations due to financial instability. monta has always maintained a strong earnings and cash position through investment in the most efficient processes and a lean, efficient workforce. With a reduction in global capacity of speciality packaging tape, demand on the remaining producers has increased significantly and, in order to fulfil this demand, monta is investing in its business and will increase annual capacity from 170 million square meters to more than 200 million square meters of adhesive tape.

One of the largest employers in Southern Bavaria, monta Klebebandwerk has a turnover of almost €50m per year.
