Since 2005 Johann Amoser, owner of monta Klebebandwerk, has held 100% of the shares of Fix-pack Kft. Hungaria, a manufacturer focusing on printed/unprinted self-adhesive tapes for Hungary and the Eastern European markets. Founded in 1994, Fix-pack Kft. achieves a turn-over of approximately €5m under Mr. Amoser’s leadership.
Based on that success, monta management decided during 2009 to enlarge its platform to the east, investigating investment possibilities in various Eastern European countries. Romania was quickly identified as a fast-growing economy.
Since early 2010, monta self-adhesive tapes have been sold to the Romanian market through an independent distributor. Despite competition and tough market conditions, monta felt that a sustainable business could be built based on a consistently high-quality product, reliable service and a competent partner. Fix-pack SRL Romania was founded in March 2011 with the collaboration of monta, Fix-pack Kft and Fix-pack SRL; the majority of shares are held by monta Klebebandwerk.
The sales office for this new venture and a small stock facility – with expansion plans underway – are in Tg-Mures (Neumarkt) approximately 120km from Sibiu in Transylvania. The product range, identical to that of Fix-pack Kft in Hungary, includes PVC, BOPP, MOPP, and PET packaging tapes (printable as well) coated with natural rubber, acrylic or hot melt adhesive. Additional speciality tapes, labels and other accessory packaging materials are available.
