November 2013 saw the Parkside Flexibles Group exhibit at their first European Tobacco Exhibition. The World Tobacco event ran for three days at Hamburg Messe, Germany and was supported by a diverse range of businesses within the Tobacco supply chain, such as machinery manufacturers, specialist film and paper suppliers and convertors.

The exhibition provided Parkside with a platform to launch a range of new and exciting innovations embracing the major trends in the tobacco market, including solutions for freshness, easy open packs, sustainable substrates and compostable structures.

Parkside’s European tobacco division managing director Tracy Cardell said "We were overwhelmed with the interest we received at the exhibition, such that we are seriously considering exhibiting at Tabexpo in London 2015. Given the success of Hamburg this year it will give us continuity in the market place and provide the perfect opportunity to launch the next series of Parkside innovations."

As well as responding to the numerous customer enquiries, Parkside have been keen to follow up on the contacts made with new suppliers and manufacturers of machines and equipment for tobacco packaging.

Chris Kozlik, Development Director said "Parkside recognise the real opportunity three way partnerships can make in accelerating the development curve.

"It’s definitely the way forward in bringing innovative products to the market within the timeframe our customers expect," Kozlik said.

Innovations remain a major focus for the group and 2014 will see Parkside commercialise a number of the new products currently under development.
