Invisible marking technology using visible ink

AlpVision’s patented and proprietary Cryptoglyph® invisible technology for protecting packaging and labelling against counterfeiting uses no special ink, no taggant and no extra security features, just a pattern of micro-holes invisible to the naked eye, generated in the varnish layer within standard printing processes (rotogravure, flexography, offset). Patterns of micro-dots, invisible to the naked eye, can also be generated on the whole surface of the packaging or labelling using standard visible ink.

Covert security without extra cost

The covert security feature is produced without any change in the production process and without alteration of the production speed and therefore without extra production cost.

Anti-counterfeiting software

AlpVision supplies software licences for the complete range of tools necessary for management of a global policy to combat counterfeiting and to uncover market diversion. This software package is sold under the Krypsos™ brand name and is managed directly by the branded product manufacturer. For medicines sold in the US, the AlpVision anti-counterfeiting solutions meet the requirements of the US health authorities with respect to pharmaceutical products (FDA 21 CFR part 11 ERES and FDA Revitalization Act S.1082).

Covert marking detection using software and standard imaging devices

The detection of the covert marking is performed by an ordinary office scanner or a PDA camera phone. The capture of just part of the packaging or labelling is enough to produce a ‘genuine-or-fake’ verdict. This security check can be performed anywhere, any time by any authorised person without any specific training or education.
